Siteworks is Bundanon’s annual spring event which brings scientists, artists and community voices together to share knowledge and ideas arising from the Bundanon sites through a series of discussions, presentations and experiences.
SITEWORKS is unique in Australia’s cultural life, allowing for a different type of art-making to happen within a site where the natural and the cultural are layered upon each other and challenge artists to reflect
In our publication SITEWORKS: FIELD GUIDE TO BUNDANON (2014), Sarah Miller writes:
“Siteworks is a project that invites us not only to apprehend, but also to experience the interconnectedness of nature and culture, art and science, history and geology; to appreciate the wonder of the world. Geologists, biologists, cultural geographers, artists, farmers, musicians, storytellers, live artists, futurists, inventors, ecologists and community members interested in the life of the planet come together to think, to eat, to talk and walk together. It’s an experiment in collective thinking and doing that without hubris seeks to develop new ways of living, making and working together”.
