Drawing on his research, field experience and acclaimed book Psychoactive Plants & Fungi, Engel’s talk explores the science, histories and cultural stories behind some of the world’s most intriguing species, revealing how they have shaped human curiosity, ritual and knowledge across centuries.
Dr Liam Engel
Dr Liam Engel is an ethnobotanist, natural products chemist and science communicator specialising in psychoactive plants. Liam undertakes analytical chemistry with NICM Health Research Institute and Pill Testing Australia, is founder of The Mescaline Garden educational nursery and author of Psychoactive Plants & Fungi.
