Join local artist Wanita Lowe (Dunghutti and Biripi) for a relaxed, hands-on weaving workshop for children and their families.
Together, you’ll explore traditional weaving techniques using raffia and create a bracelet or armband to take home. This workshop is a welcoming introduction to cultural making practices, with plenty of space to learn, connect and create side by side.
Designed for children aged 5–12 and their carers. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Wanita Lowe
Wanita Lowe is a proud Dunghutti and Biripi woman who was raised in the Riverina area, and is also accepted in the Wiradjuri community. She feels a deep connection to all three countries Salt water, Fresh water, coastal and rural landscapes. Wanita is an international exhibiting Artist, exhibiting at the IDAIA Paris 2024 and 2025. She works for Tafe NSW as a Cultural Arts teacher and Cultural educator in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven region (Dharawal/Yuin Country), and facilitates weaving and painting workshops for the Blak Markets, National Indigenous Art Fair, Maritime Museum and Corporate events.
