Anne Ferran has been exhibiting since the 1980s. More than twenty years ago she began working with material and textual residues of Australia’s colonial past, probing them for gaps and silences. Her projects have drawn on museum collections, archives, libraries, landscapes and historic sites, and focus on the significance of those remains for the present. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, fellowships and grants, and her photographic and video work has been widely collected by public institutions.
