Caroline Field has previously held positions which include Director of the City of Horsham Regional Art Gallery, and Manager/Curator of the Museum of Art, Deakin University. She became founding manager of the University’s two galleries: the Stonington Stables Museum of Art, Toorak campus and the ICON Museum of Art, Burwood campus, Melbourne. Field commenced at Australian Galleries in 2005, and over the following ten years fulfilled many roles within the gallery including management of the Derby & Smith Street Galleries, Melbourne.

While in residence, Field accessed the Bundanon Archive for her work on a book about the history of Australian Galleries, one of the nation’s earliest private commercial art spaces, and their relationship with Arthur Boyd. The book was published in late 2019.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
