Mohamed Bourouissa

Mohamed Bourouissa

Art Forms: Installation, Visual Art

Residency Year: 2019

Lives / Works: Paris, France

Preceded by a long immersive phase, Mohamed Bourouissa’s works build a situation of new enunciation. Countering falsely simplistic media constructions, he reintroduces complexity in the representation of the margins of hypervisibility.

Bourouissa used his residency ahead of his participation in the 22nd Biennale of Sydney, titled NIRIN, where he presented a new installation, titled ‘Brutal Family Roots’. Questioning simplistic media constructions, Bourouissa investigated the complexities of representation that exist in the margins of hypervisibility.
