Ngwatilo Mawiyoo is a Kenyan writer and performer. She works across various disciplines including literature, music and film. Ngwatilo’s recent projects have included the publication of a collection of poems, production of mixed-genre stage performances, TV projects for Kenya and Africa and a range of international publications and performances.

Mawiyoo came to Bundanon through a partnership with Africa Centre, South Africa. Mawiyoo is a writer who focuses on the intersection between literature, performance and ethnography. Her writing explores memory and ethnography using music and other artforms to tell a poem.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
