Nick Wales’s music is a hybrid between classical, electronic, and world music. Composing credits 2oneAnother, 2inDminor and Emergence (with Sarah Blasko) for Rafael Bonachela and Sydney Dance Company, collaborations with award winning Choreographer Shaun Parker composing AM I, Spill, Trolleys, Happy as Larry (with Bree van Reyk) and The Yard. Recent projects include working alongside Sarah Blasko, writing the orchestral arrangements for her 2012 album I Awake, composing the soundtrack for the feature film Around the Block starring Christina Ricci and Hunter Page-Lochard and collaborations with the inter-arts practitioner Justin Shoulder. Nick is a Founding Member and Co-Composer of the critically acclaimed musical group CODA.

Wales was in residence in 2015 with Justin Shoulder and Bhenji Ra. Together they worked on developing a new body of work based on the meeting point of three very different practices based in visual arts, performance and sound. The body of work was based on both a cultural and queer lineage, and the dissection of questions concerning identity and personal existence within their individual landscapes.
