Pip Smith is a SMH Best Young Novelist of 2018. Her debut novel Half Wild (A&U, 2017) was recently shortlisted for the 2018 Voss Literary Award, and her first poetry collection, Too Close for Comfort (SUP, 2013), won the inaugural Helen Ann Bell Award.

Whilst in residence, Smith worked on her literary novella ‘The Pull of the Moon’. Set on Christmas Island between 2010 – 2015, the novella aimed to explored the urge to ‘home’ and its various iterations in human, bird and animal worlds.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
