Quentin Sprague is a writer and curator.

During his residency at Bundanon, Sprague worked on an ongoing writing project: a social history of the East Kimberley art movement, drawing on extensive interviews and archival research. The project culminated in a book, The Stranger Artist, Life at the Edge of Kimberley Painting, which was published by Hardie Grant Books in 2020. Sprague’s book won the 2021 Prime Minister’s Literary Award (non-Fiction).

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
