Rhiannon Pegler

Art Forms: Painting, Visual Art

Residency Year: 2020

Lives / Works: Illawarra, Australia

Illawarra artist, Rhiannon Pegler, works in the medium of acrylic paint to interpret small environs of the microscopic. Inspired by microscopy, fungi, slime mould, plankton and microbes, Pegler uses her art as a vehicle of exploration and the documentation of her microscopy findings. Fascinated by the unseen landscapes that shape our lives Pegler paints representations of them to entice herself and others to ponder such ‘scapes and worlds.

Pegler spent time at Bundanon through the 2020 Accessible Arts Residency. Pegler worked on her project ‘Inspection and Interpretation of Bundanon Microvisuals’, which focuses on the local Bundanon microverses. The project involves collecting samples from the local landscape and zooming in on the microscopic aspects.
