Rosemary Laing is a photo-based artist. Her projects are most often created in relation to cultural and/or historically resonant locations throughout Australia. With interventions undertaken in situ or through the use of choreographed performance work, she engages with the politics of place and contemporary culture.

Laing’s projects are most often created in culturally resonant locations, where her interventions are in-situ and performative. The Paper was created on location at Bundanon between May and July 2013. During the making of the work Bundanon experienced its worst flooding in decades.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
