Sharon Backley-Astrachan is an independent dance artist who trained at WAPA. Since graduation she was based in Israel. During her time in Israel Sharon, together with her husband Omer, began to develop their own practice, performing in theatres and arts events such as ‘Tmuna Theatre’ (Tel Aviv), ‘Teiva Theatre.

Sharon and Omer Backley-Astrachan used their residence together to create a durational performance piece based on themes of the big bang, life and death, breath, heartbeat, the division of cells and more.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
