Children and adults visit the Art Museum and collaborate to create their own artworks with artist Janet Fieldhouse
After a guided visit to the Art Museum and new exhibition Man on Fire: Visions of Nebuchadnezzar participants will come together for a ceramics workshop with artist Janet Fieldhouse.
Janet Fieldhouse creates handbuilt ceramic works that draw on her matrilineal Meriam Mir (Torres Strait) heritage, as well as European and First Peoples’ pottery practices from the Pacific and Americas. Her works are an expression of culture, seeking to fulfill the functional and spiritual needs of the Meriam Mir people, and referencing family, traditional life, storytelling and the natural world.
