Les Kapsber’girls share a passion for early music, rare sources, and forgotten voices. Their interpretation of baroque music blends musicological rigor with influences drawn from traditional and popular music.
They proudly celebrate the emotional power of female voices, and central to their work is their desire to bring to life compositional voices that have been historically sidelined. With an exquisite combination of baroque instruments and pure vocals, this concert is listening bliss.
“A vibrant ensemble reshaping early music with authenticity and flair.” — Gramophone
Passionate about exploring the pre-baroque and baroque repertoire, this young ensemble was created in 2015 by the lutenist and artistic leader Albane Imbs.
The Kapsber’girls are looking for new ways of interpreting historical sources. Drawing their inspiration from diverse traditional repertoires, the four musicians are working on XVIIe and XVIIIe centuries musics in a cross-disciplinary approach, building new bridges and playing with genres.
Energy and vitality borrowed from popular music, colours drawn from modern music, the girls are willing to find novelty in ancestry.
