The pair first met in the 1970s as young designers with a shared love of colour and artistry. Their partnership redefined Australian fashion, from the legendary Flamingo Follies fashion parades to their enduring influence on fashion, design and craft still felt today.
This conversation explores the professional and the personal, sharing the compelling stories behind their practice, in conversation with Bundanon CEO Rachel Kent.

Jenny Kee is a pioneer of Australian style and internationally acclaimed artist and designer. Her vibrant art and design reflects her passion for the unique and precious Australian environment. Over 40 years, Jenny’s work has appeared on silk, on paper, on wool, on cotton, on ceramics and on canvas. Her creativity has been shaped by an eclectic mix of global influences, from Aboriginal Australian to early European, and the exotic arts of Africa, India, Asia and South America. Jenny’s distinctive style has evolved, steeped in a passion for nature, to reflect a “strong, spontaneous, bold and optimistic” Australia.
Linda Jackson is a fashion designer and artist. Having studied fashion design at Emily McPherson College and photography at Prahran Technical College, she travelled to New Guinea, through Asia and Europe, and worked for Parisian couture house Mia-Vicky. Returning to Australia, she met Jenny Kee in 1973. They formed a partnership through the celebrated boutique, Flamingo Park, in Sydney’s Strand Arcade, with a shared passion for vintage fashion and a reverence for the artistry and skill inherent in the bespoke and the handmade. Jackson and Kee also connected through a deep love of nature, and the pair established a creative partnership that redefined the Australian fashion landscape.
