Bernadette Smith is an interdisciplinary artist working within photomedia and installation to explore water sustainability and the Anthropocene. She has an extensive exhibition record and is included in collections in Germany, France, Britain, Singapore, Spain, Australia and the USA.

Smith spent time at Bundanon through our 2020 Accessible Arts Residency. During her stay, Smith worked on her project, ‘Waters of Life – Shoalhaven River Stories’. The project draws upon stories of life around the rivers and creeks of the Shoalhaven area to develop a photomedia installation.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
