Damian Barbeler’s award-winning works have been performed and broadcast around the world, sung and played by leading Australian soloists and ensembles. He is widely recognised for his idiosyncratic and playful artistic style as well as his lush, emotional sound worlds inspired by textures and patterns from nature. His works regularly blend media elements: incorporating sound design, lighting, visuals, software and sculptural elements. He is an enthusiastic collaborator often working with creative types from diverse fields like architecture, software design, media arts, dance and more.

Barbeler was in residence at Bundanon in 2017 with Nicole Forsyth, John R. Taylor, Dr. Matthew Stephens, Joan Sauers and Sophie Raymond

During their residency, the group explored and developed sound installations that can be deployed to give a more organic, and hyper-real immersive experience of historical sites, museums and houses.
