David Roland is a writer of narrative non-fiction. His writing has been featured in the Good Weekend, Newcastle Herald, Rolling Stone magazine, The Hoopla and Wellbeing.

At Bundanon, Roland worked on his project ‘The Power of Suffering’, a personal investigation into the nature of human suffering, what it does to us, how we survive it, and how we grow as a result. The book features personal stories of those who have survived and grown through life crises, and was published by Simon and Schuster Australia in March 2020.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
