Eddie Abd & Ludwig El Haddad

Art Forms: Performance, Visual Art

Residency Year: 2026

Lives / Works: Dharug Country

Eddie Abd and Ludwig El Haddad, partners of over twenty-five years, are arts workers and artists, living on Dharug Country

Their practices have developed in close proximity through shared lived experiences, intersecting creative inquiries and mutual artistic influence. Eddie’s and Ludwig’s practices, across digital imaging, video art and performance, situate personal narratives within broader historical, political, and cultural contexts.

In Residence at Bundanon

During their joint Bandanon residency, they will start developing Proof of Love (working title), a new work structured around visual and performance tableaux across past, present, and speculative futures in which love is required to be proven.

The work’s point of departure was the bureaucratic requirement of El Haddad and Abd to evidence their love in order for Ludwig to be granted entry to Australia — tracing how systems of patriarchy, colonial authority and capitalism intersect within private life.
