Lucy Nelson is an award-winning writer and part time arts worker living on unceded Dharawal and Wodi Wodi Country.

Her work has been published in Meanjin, The Monthly, Kill Your Darlings, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Big Issue, Southword and elsewhere. She has received the Newcastle Short Story Award, the Writing NSW Varuna Fellowship and the Templeberg Fellowship from Writers Victoria. She studied Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT in Melbourne and her first book Wait Here was published by Simon & Schuster in June 2025.

 

In Residence at Bundanon

I am working on a graphic novella. I plan to use the generous time and space granted by Bundanon to focus in peace and solitude on the visual elements of this project including illustrations and textiles.
