The Ali Project

Mehboob Ali, asylum seeker, storyteller, has lived a life of courage, luck, ingenuity and tenacity.
Allies in process, we will create a multi-disciplinary, multimedia evocation of one astonishing life reflecting many lives, rich in Pashtun music and feast, Propelled by Ali’s passionate and graphic recounting, his vivid recollection and the heart stopping perils of the journey, the story will evolve through movement, image, text and symbol, towards a theatrical structure. This odyssey evokes at a cellular level relinquishment, endurance, hope.
Form is the quest: how it manifests, visually, aurally, stylistically, how story, protagonists and audience fuse. We illuminate what unifies us.

Other Artists involved are Mehboob Ali, Natalie Davey, Sepideh Kian.
