Katy Mutton

Art Forms: Sculpture, Visual Art

Residency Year: 2015

Lives / Works: Australia

Katy Mutton is a visual artist whose practice is informed by an ongoing concern relating to warfare and its effect on our social and cultural identity. Mutton’s work is immersive and textural, often utilising fragile substrates such as Washi papers, sheet porcelain and timber veneers. She has a professional background in Interior Architecture and frequently uses drafting and graphic technique in her works.

During her residency at Bundanon, Katy Mutton developed a body of work exploring the evolution of air warfare, transitioning from the romanticism of early combat planes to the idolatrous place of drones in modern warfare.
