As a painter and drawer with an interest in art history and pyschological phemonenons, Louisa Chirop used her residency to develop her engagement in the Bundanon region, modelling her exploration of the surrounding waterway on the process used by Australian Surrealist James Gleeson in Peregian Beach 1982.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
